That’s Baller

There’s little description needed for the following product. It will soon be moving from my iWOOT list over to my I just bought one list. Talk about the most useful thing since a Swiss Army Knife, this little diddy combines a usb stick with a bottle opener. I’m convinced that someone from the Swiss Army was in on the design of this one - it’s just that badass.

Anyways, thanks and big shout to our friends at Engadget for the heads up. Unfortunately for those of us not living in Europe, there’s no ETA on the product. Our friends overseas can cop one of these for as little as 7 Euro next month (followed shortly thereafter by it popping up on crazy Chinese websites for 2 dollars shipped). Talk about reasonable! TrekStor FTW!

Just a heads up to all the fanbois out there, our friends at the iPhone Dev Team have cooked up a new version of the Pwnage tool for your jailbreaking pleasure. Not long after our friends from Cupertino released firmware 2.0.2 onto the free world, it was jailbroken (just like almost every other release). Good look Dev Team and thanks for the pwnage. We all do appreciate the efforts here at That’s Baller Headquarters!

Here’s a quickie for your cell phone ringtone needs. Beau Weaver, the guy that does a lot of the voiceovers for your favorite movies, has come up with a “ringtone” that is very cleverly done. It’s a free download which means that you should definitely install it right away so that you can impress all of your friends with how up on things you really are piss everyone off next time you’re at the supermarket, church or other social gathering.

So I signed up for the private beta a few days ago….we’ll call it Sunday but I’m not positive.  Either way my invitation came via text message within a week which is very reasonable considering the amount of attention they’ve been receiving.  I know you want the good stuff though…so here it comes!!  Skyfire is a new (still in beta) browser for the Windows Mobile platform that promises REAL desktop browsing from your phone.  Speed, audio, video, the works!!  This browser is amazing!  That’s really all that you can say.  It’s amazing to not have to worry about going to a site and receiving something completely different than you would see on your desktop counterparts.  No worrying about videos (or stupid flash ads for that matter) not showing up and I was just watching the olympics.  Now granted the 800w screen is not the best for watching videos but it does the job and everything was running smooth.  There was no sign of a network hiccup or any time of slow down.  I’ll get into it more when I get to really test it and also I want to look more at the privacy settings because from what I understand everything runs through their servers first to get formatted for our phones.  I don’t really think anything wireless is very secure, but I might not be doing any banking on there though.

simple jack

So I’ve been using the Treo about a week now, I guess exactly one week. If there’s only one word that I can use to express my feelings toward this “device” it is….adoration. I love this damn phone!  When I first used the phone, for the few brief moments in the Sprint store, I was worried that when I got to REALLY get into it and install apps and customize it the way I do then it would slow down.  Wrong.  Wrong.  This thing is flying.  I’m typing this up using the free Rev-A internet too….take that Fay you stupid whore of a storm….shut down my DSL and I come right back!  I’ll be putting some posts up soon of some of my favorite programs and some ways to tinker and just generally improve on the ALMOST perfect 800w (damn LCD).  In the meantime the verdict is in….and we find the defendant guilty of the charge of ballin.  In other words: that’s baller (dot com)

P.S. I just watched Tropic Thunder and it was hilarious….and there’s big controversy over this Simple Jack thing and I just thought I’d add a little fuel to the fire.
